I live on an inland lake in NC called Lake Hickory.  It's part of the Catawba River.  I noticed a Lowrance labelled vehicle with CMAP in big letters on the side parked in a large boat landing parking lot.  It was there a couple different days this week.  It's a sport utility vehicle with an empty boat trailer.  See the pic.  Mapping Lake Hickory I reckon.

It sounds like Lowrance is actively mapping Lake Hickory, possibly to update or create detailed CMAP charts for the area. The presence of a vehicle with CMAP branding and an empty trailer suggests they had a mapping boat on the water, likely equipped with sonar and GPS to collect depth and structure data. This is good news for local anglers and boaters, as it could mean more accurate and detailed mapping will be available on Lowrance units in the near future.
