I've just connected up my new tiller pilot to my NMEA 2000 bus, but the my chart plotter isn't recognising it. I've tried resetting the TP32 using the three button method, but still no dice.

What else should I be checking?

Thanks

Is this the first device on your NMEA 2000 network or do you have others?   N2K is usually plug and play but if the network isn’t powered and properly terminated you won’t get far.

Hi Ben, thanks for your reply.

It's the third device. The second is a B&G 508 wind sensor. The bus is getting power and it's properly terminated.

Beginning to wonder whether it's a cable fault or perhaps the TP32 itself.

James,

Have you been able to check if it’s showing up as a device in your NMEA-2000 devices on your MFD?

Also, just verifying when you refer to the three button mode that you’re putting it in system mode not stand alone?

Ben, it isn't showing on the Device List.  Also, the diagnostics screen doesn't doesn't show any difference in traffic whether it's plugged in or not. I believe the cable or the device itself must be faulty.
