Welcome to the Panbo Marine Technology Forums.
I’ve got an Axiom 9 with Navionics+ and Realvision 3D and the latest firmware (3.4?). However, I don’t see the Auto-route option pop up for me when I select a location. I only see the ‘Go to’ option in the menu. I do see all the other new features like Netflix, Fuel Management, etc.
Is there something I need to do to enable auto routing? I don’t have an autopilot or heading sensor and was wondering if that might be the missing piece.
I have the same setup, except with the Raymarine autopilot (ACU-100, EV1 heading sensor, p70s display/control head). If I click on a location on a chart using Navionics, and then scroll down (slightly annoying) I see "Autoroute to here".
Can you verify if you scroll down you can't see it?

There are a fair number of requirements for autorouting to work. The freshest data subscription on the card must be current and the card has to have been updated within the last year, among others. You might want to take a look at Raymarine's requirements.
Let us know if you still can't get it working

Yup. I tried that. There is no Autoroute option. Also tried doing it at the dock and while underway in case it was an option that only showed up while the boat had heading (no heading sensor).

Oh wow! That’s an interesting list of requirements. I bought my Chartplotter in December 2017. So I’m hoping my maps are up-to-date. Getting to the card on the back of my Axiom 9 will be a fun task. I should have gone for the external card reader. 🙁
However, I’ll double check the maps this weekend along with the other items in the list and let you know. Thanks!
That is likely the issue. I have the 9” Axiom without the SD card slot on the front as well, but I bought the extension USB plug so I can swap things in and out. Still requires unbolting it sometimes to get to the secondary card in the back though...

Didn’t Raymarine enable Plotter Sync on the Axiom recently? I should be able to just update my charts via the Navionics app on my phone, right?
Problem solved! I used the Navionics app on my iPhone to connect to the Axiom’s WiFi. Then used the Plotter Sync feature and it automatically updated the charts on the Axiom. After that the Auto-route option showed up in the menu! I’m also glad I found a way to update the charts on the Axiom without pulling the entire thing out. Thanks for the guidance on this! 😊
So, I have another small problem with the Axiom 9 I am contemplating buying. My instruments are ST60+ and I use sea talk 1 & 2 as well as NMEA 0183 and 2000. Quite a variety currently plugged into my C80 Raymarine. Am I likely to have problems with connecting all these if I install the Axiom?
Thanks - Tim

Tim,
I started with ST60+ instruments and the Axiom 9 along with an existing NMEA 2000 network and some 0183 devices. I added an ITC-5 which I wrote about here to handle the ST60+ transducers, but that assumes you would replace the existing displays with newer ones (which I did) but you may not wish to do.
You could also use the SeaTalk1 to NG converter kit that I also had written about in my network overview to connect the existing ST60+ displays to a STNG / NMEA 2000 network. It is considerably cheaper than the ITC-5 and you can continue using your ST60 displays.
The Axiom uses NMEA 2000, so you won't need a special cable to connect it to your NMEA 2000 network. The SeaTalk1 to NG converter uses SeaTalkNG, but you can lop the end off and put a NMEA 2000 end on if you want or even create a small SeaTalkNG network and connect it to the NMEA 2000 network. They're identical internally other than the ends.
The only piece that the Axiom lacks is native NMEA 0183 directly into the unit. You would need to use something like a Nemo Gateway or Actisense NGT device to convert NMEA 0183 to NMEA 2000 and put it on that network.

You mention NMEA 0183 as one of the connectors you're using and Steve mentioned the lack of native NMEA-0183 input on the Axiom. I'm curious to hear more about your use for NMEA 0183. As long as it's not an input to the Axiom having the 0183 flow elsewhere in your gauge set may be just fine.
For the Seatalk to NMEA-2000 (Seatalk NG) you can use this converter and this cable. You should be aware that this will likely work fine but the presence of the Seatalk converter on the network has some implications. Raymarine has historically limited your ability to select data sources when the converter is on the network. This is because the MFD can't see what's behind the converter so you're limited to auto-source selection. In 99% of installations that's not a big deal though I bumped my head against it once in a complicated scenario.
