Welcome to the Panbo Marine Technology Forums.
Has anyone successfully transferred routes from Navionics (iPad/Android) to a Simrad NSS8?
I believe that it should be possible with both devices attached to the same network, but the Navionics app seems instead to want to me to use the NSS8 as an access point, which it can't do.
Hi Carl, Yes I have transferred routes from Navionics iPad app, but I also have a GoFree WiFi device on my test NSS evo2 network. I wrote about it here:

The latest software for NSS evo2 enables Dock-to-dock autorouting right on the NSS, which I look forward to trying very soon.
The Evo2 is very different to the NSS8 i think.
My NSS8 is connected to a switch which in turn is connected to a router.
My iPad is connect to the same network wirelessly, and that allows me to control the NSS8 via the Simrad app, so there is a good network connection there. OpenCPN on my laptop also connects to the NSS8 for NMEA 2000 data.
The Navionics apps though doesn't seem to have any way to make use of this connection though.
Right, Navionics tries to automate the connection, which is nice when it works, but I wish they would also allow a user to enter an IP address for a data stream. I believe that all the NSS mfds were evo2 and then they updated to evo3 hardware, but I could be forgetting something. evo2 displays did not have WiFi but the official solution was putting a GoFree1 on the network.

Oh I wish all manufacturers did this. I have problems with Navionics on an iPad connecting to Raymarine and it would be nice if you could just give it an IP address. I realize they are trying to make it easier, but I'd say about 20% of the time I have to power cycle things to get them to show up right.
