How would the NMEA instance of a Garmin MSC10 be found?

It is not reported on the Garmin MFD under Vessel > settings>NMEA200O Setup>Device List .

I would like to use parameters from the GPS as switches in CZONE - such as SOG, but need to input the correct device instance to make it happen

Would I need a NMEA sniffer, like actisense?

Hello,

To find the NMEA instance of a Garmin MSC10, if it's not reported on the MFD, you may need to use an NMEA sniffer like Actisense to capture the NMEA data and identify the correct instance. This is necessary to use parameters from the GPS, such as SOG, as switches in CZONE effectively.
