Welcome to the Panbo Marine Technology Forums.
Hi everyone,
I am upgrading (effectively installing new) autopilot on my Hanse 32 sailboat. Going from Raymarine ST4000MK2 wheel to something that could keep up with the rolling seas.
Currently I am Looking at two different compasses for my future system. Simrad Precision-9 or Maritron SSC300. One obvious difference I noticed is the absence of PGN 127252 on the SSC300. This is responsible for sending "heave" info, which is motion of the boat on Z axis (up and down).
Not only SSC300 is less expensive, I got spooked by all the posts of people having hell of a time installing P9 to avoid interference. Question for the community here if the absence of this sentence crucial for the efficient performance of the autopilot?
Thank you
