I have a Volvo Penta 5.7 GXI engine. Can anyone tell me how to determine if this engine is in NMEA 2000 compliant? My boat is a chaparral, 2007 year, I am looking for to replace the tachometer. The tachometer I had is a Veethree tachometer which incorporates a depth finder, engine temperature, battery voltage and several other options. V3 no longer makes this tachometer. I am told a replacement unit  Sierra 70001D may work. But it requires some modifications with the hook up. But the first thing I need to know is it requires that the engine bay and NMEA 2000 compliant.Can anyone help me with this?
