Thanks to various boating writer demo trips, I’ve gotten to experience how valuable a good trolling motor can be for fishing. But I can picture other uses, like slow quiet exploration and photography. In fact, my current “next boat” dream involves a fast single-outboard 29-footer that’s tough enough for long-distance coastal cruising. A bow-mounted trolling motor might be a reasonable substitute for the available bow thruster while also adding a very different propulsion option?

By the way, Simrad will also offer the saltwater Recon: https://www.simrad-yachting.com/recon/

  2. still havnt found out why the simrad versions are more expensive. but happy to now have solutions for our simrad builds 😀
