I’ve just returned from a day on the water at Mercury’s Lake X facility. The V10 is as smooth and quiet as the V12, and that’s very high praise. But, from my perspective, the big story on the V10 is the dual voltage alternator. The engine is available with an optional 12v and 48v alternator. The 48v output is only enabled when its called for, but the alternator is capable of producing 150 amps at 48 volts or 6.5 kilowatts of power. In multiple engine configurations, that’s an absolute ton of power!
