Raymarine Announces LightHouse 4 for Boaters
The latest operating system for Raymarine Axiom chartplotters unlocks new levels of ease of use, personalization, features, and functionality
Fareham, UK (April 4, 2022) – Raymarine announces the next generation of the LightHouse Operating System for all boaters. New LightHouse 4 delivers even easier operation, exciting personalization options, and several new features. As with all Raymarine software upgrades, LightHouse 4 is available to all Axiom, Axiom+, Axiom Pro, and Axiom XL owners completely free as a downloadable update.
Revised menu structures enable easier use of the depth of Axiom features, with personalized images now an option for all boaters to make their boat even more their own. Feature improvements include deeper integration with Mercury Engines, Sirius XM Fish Mapping and Navionics charts to heighten a captain’s awareness at the helm. New dynamic tiles on the homescreen allow the presentation of navigation, NMEA2000 or SeaTalkng data immediately available on start up.
Whether cruising, fishing, or sailing, the powerful combination of Raymarine Axiom chartplotter displays and the LightHouse operating system affords captains an elite-level awareness.
Easier to Use
New LightHouse 4 OS provides a refined visual experience. Simplified menus make tapping into the power of Axiom faster and easier than ever. Longer pull-up menus are now nested and more intuitive to read and operate. LightHouse Apps that integrate control or provide information from marine integration partners like Seakeeper, Victron, Lumishore, and a host of others are now launchable directly from the LightHouse Home Screen, and key LightHouse Apps are now viewable in split-screen configurations. Additionally, the critical MOB touch key has been relocated to share prominent space on the Home Screen.
More Personalization
LightHouse 4 offers more options than ever to personalize how Axiom looks and functions. Captains can now add a favorite photo to the Home Screen background or create dynamic dashboard tiles to keep them informed of real-time instrument and navigation data right from the home screen display.
Key New Features
LightHouse 4 takes integration with Mercury Marine Vessel View to the next level, offering Active Exhaust Volume control, a new and refined Engine Data Summary page, and more. Anglers in North America will also appreciate the industry-best integration with SiriusXM Fish Mapping, which offers regularly updated science-based fishing-data chart overlays. SiriusXM Fish Mapping helps anglers quickly visualize and navigate to the most productive offshore fishing grounds. The LightHouse 4 update allows SiriusXM Fish Mapping data to be directly overlaid and viewed on premium fishing charts like Raymarine LightHouse Charts, Navionics, C-MAP, CMOR, and Strikelines in North American coastal regions.
Other Exciting Upgrades
LightHouse 4 delivers a host of additional key upgrades, including active route line visual enhancements, new levels of audio control, and more. Of particular interest to Navionics chart users, LightHouse 4 beautifully supports the display of high-resolution bathymetric data and satellite imagery that comes bundled with new Navionics Platinum+ charts.

The last time Raymarine announced a new version of their LightHouse operating system, it was the result of years of work rewriting their entire platform on Android. Although I’m not expecting quite the same scale of change this time around, I’m excited to see what all Raymarine has baked into LH4. I’m downloading the new software now and look forward to a report.

Where and how did you find it to be downloaded and can it be loaded into a 12” Axiom Pro through a micro SD card placed in one of the two slots on the front of the display? I can’t find a working download site, using my MacBook.
I found it via the online update on the unit itself. But, here’s the software download location from Raymarine’s website: https://www.raymarine.eu/service-and-support/software-updates/mfds/lighthouse4/axiom-models/index.html?_ga=2.117177359.84991617.1649557864-909589712.1646077511.

Interesting! While many of the listed improvements don’t apply to us, it’s good to see that manufacturers are maintaining the flow forward. Our antique 8-yo Raymarine chartplotter, unfortunately, stopped at Lighthouse 2 🙁 I suspect this may be its last summer, especially if the seals are as leaky as I fear.
Lighthouse4 has been halted , a patch to follow on May 20.
I just acquired an Axiom Pro 16” and so far have only the Lighthouse charts on it. I thought that this chart package would include auto-routing but apparently it does not. Does anyone know the status of this feature in Lighthouse charts? Is it still something they intend to offer or is Navionics going to be the only option with auto-routing going forward?
Mark, I think you understand the situation pretty well. I don’t see any mention of auto-routing for Lighthouse Charts in the latest LH4 manual — https://raymarine.app.box.com/s/rvhycb6x1brzo64921k5tsqwv2ica3j6/file/1307153085020 — but the Navionics Dock to Dock is supposed to work fine on an Axiom Pro, even without a subscription:

But there may be another choice for your Axiom, C-Map 4D with Easy Routing, though C-Map is less specific than Navionics about which features work on which MFDs:
