Sea Ray reveals special-edition SLX-R package and all-new SLX 350 outboard at the Miami International Boat Show

Sea Ray Continues Its 60th Anniversary Celebration

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 14, 2019) — During an immersive experience at the Miami International Boat Show, Thursday, Feb. 14, Sea Ray unveiled a limited-edition SLX-R package of the brand-new SLX 350 Outboard. The exclusive reveal was presented as part of Sea Ray’s celebration of 60 years of remarkably crafted boats. As a first-of-its-kind model, the SLX-R features elevated design elements combined with high-performance propulsion and innovative technologies to enhance the boating experience.

“The SLX-R is a first for Sea Ray, offering a limited, racing performance version of the SLX 350 Outboard,” said Brad Anderson, Sea Ray president and general manager. “As one of the world’s premier boat shows, the Miami International Boat Show was the ideal venue to unveil the SLX-R package and show off its unique features.”

Sea Ray established the large day boat category with the introduction of the original SLX 350. “We have taken the best and made it even better,” said Anderson. The SLX 350 Outboard delivers a superior ride and handling with twin Mercury 350 Verado® outboard engines, Mercury’s Joystick Piloting for Outboards, NextWave™ innovations such as quietRIDE technology and optional Dynamic Running Surface. In addition, the SLX 350 Outboard offers a reimagined seating layout that is best-in-class with room for 18, anchored by a cockpit social area and “concealable” transom loungers. The intuitive helm comes standard with dual 9-inch Simrad touchscreen information displays, including Mercury VesselView Link Data, chart plotting maps, depth and fish-finder capabilities. Based on owner feedback, the expanded interior Port Hideaway now provides a larger air-conditioned space for added comfort.

A limited-edition package, the SLX-R is powered by twin Mercury 400 Verado Racing engines, a new option available on Sea Ray models. Technology highlights include an exclusive helm display with intuitive SelectResponse 12-inch glass displays and state-of-the-art systems from Simrad, a Mastervolt NMEA 2000 charging system, and a premier FUSION Marine audio system with a full-size screen for the ultimate in technologically advanced sound.

Enhancing the SLX 350 aesthetic, the SLX-R showcases upscale design elements and details including premium carbon fiber accents on the boat’s hardtop arch, special-edition Shadow metallic gel paint, superior quality upholstery with contrast stitching, red underwater lighting and red accent lighting throughout the vessel. The interior Port Hideaway offers a relaxing area to retreat out of the elements with plush seating, a TV, air-conditioning and other welcome luxuries. In addition, a special interior package is available.
