Please, let us know what you think. What’s better? What’s worse? What doesn’t make sense?

We’re trying to get three distinct areas of content in while not losing focus on what has brought a lot of readers to Panbo and keeps them coming back, the long feature articles.

1. Confused, I noticed when I logged in, prompted while reading an entry in the new forum, that I was not taken back to where I was.

2. Very Desired capability : Can there be a single place I can go to see all the Home, EdBlog, and Forum comments posted by Panbo readers and yourselves,  in date/time order with a link to the entry that brings me scrolled down to the comment, and enough information to decide if I am interested in going their, for example the title of the entry, where it is (home, edblog, forum), the name of the visitor who dropped the comment, etc. perhaps even a color indicator to show I am a past comment writer on the the topic. Perhaps the first 10-20 words of the comment.

The intent is to easily catch up on what Panbo readers have writing against the three areas since I last visited.

I believe such a capability will inspire readers to stay engaged in more discussions, and for people who post comments, especially on entries prior to the most current entry, to have their comments seen and replied to by more Panbo readers. The more the Panbo community is engaged in commenting back and forth to each other and you, the more likely they will find an answer they are looking for / more likely give the answers others are looking for.

Any reason my comments are "awaiting moderation", it was posted under my login, not anom.

Desired Feature: Ability to go in and edit or delete our comments. I see I made some mistakes in my last comment, and want to fix.

Dan,

I'll take a look at where you're getting redirected when you login.

New posts are subject to moderation until a user has a few posts in the forum.  We will fine-tune the settings as time goes by but right now we're setup with pretty conservative settings.  The last thing we want is for our shiny new forum to be polluted with lots of spam!

FYI there is a setting within the forum software your using for email confirmations when subscribing to specific forum posts or forums for email. Right now it sends a confirmation email every time you subscribe to a new forum post, which requires you go and click "accept" in your email, which to me seems like a lot of email/confirmations.

You can turn it off so that it doesn't prompt you every time you want to subscribe to a new thread, yet still do email confirmation for when people sign up, and when they subscribe the first time for the first item.

Is there a way to "promote" folks who have been here for a while manually so that we don't have to go through the reputation process?

I believe double opt-in has been turned off for topic notifications.

Let me know if it's still forcing you to double confirm.

Hartley,

I do have some good news on the picture front.  Once you reach three posts in the forum you will be allowed to upload attachments.  Image attachments are automatically displayed as pictures in the forum.

Hi Ben(s),

I note that the "Search" feature has faded away?  I was going to search for one of Ben's olde posts and "uh-oh"!

--UPDATE:  allow me to modify that - I found the magnifying glass - but it appears to search only the new entries?

Well, I took to long to add a second UPDATE..:(  I found the article I was looking for, and I now know why I couldn't find it the first time - while the system accurately pulled up the post I was looking for, it showed me only the Title of the post, not where my search term turned up - and since the title didn't have many clues, I missed it... Sorry about all the fuss!
