There was some discussion on Panbo and Passagemaker back in 2017 about using DeviceNet multi-port boxes (e.g. Turck JBBS 57-811) as a NMEA2000 backbone.  That can greatly simplify wiring, especially behind the helm, so I'm surprised there haven't been any recent discussions or even NMEA-approved products.  Have others experienced problems using DeviceNet multi-port boxes as the N2K backbone?

Hi Rick,

I've been running two of those Turck multi-ports on Gizmo since I wrote that entry and have seen no problems.

Thanks for the info.  I'll be using a Mencom 8-port box which is similar.
