Hi All

After spending a couple of weeks cruising about the e120’s seem to be working ok and the radar works ok.  I think we can hold off for a bit on new MFD/Radar.  Auto pilot works great so that’s good.  Would be nice to add another st6001 display to flybridge.  They are fairly inexpensive on eBay. I think that would be an easy addition.  Also want to get an AIS that will work with existing e120, navionic’s app on iPad and new MFD when we decide to upgrade.  Search continues.  Thx,mark

Glad to hear they're still decent as we're in the process of purchasing a boat with 2 E120s, 2 E80s, AP, 2 Ray240s, E52081 RADAR, and I think an AIS500.  Will supplement with Navionics and AquaMap on the iPads.  I'll also add 2 Yacht Device's N2K Volvo gateways.

I'm going to try adding a cheap transparent WiFi<->Ethernet bridge on the SeaTalkNG (HS!) network and dump the packets.  If the E120 just UDP broadcasts and wraps the NMEA0183 messages (like Furuno does), then I should be able to see the AIS targets on the iPad.  Need to fire up WireShark and see.

I think you mean SeaTalk HS network, right? SeaTalkNG is NMEA 2000/CanBus, not Ethernet.

Doh!  Yes, of course.  Another case of the fingers getting ahead of the brain.  Thanks for the correction!
