Greetings Marine Electricians! I spent a couple years doing marine electronics installation out in Long Island, New York, and will never forget some of the compatibility issues after material was already ordered. Things like Garmin live sonar on a Simrad MFD, Mercury SmartCraft engines with no gateway in the quote, and radar brands mismatched with chartplotters. Similar problems on many jobs.

I spent the last year building a tool, designed just for installers, to catch said problems before the install even starts! It's a compatibility checker, specifically for marine electronics. It checks MFD, transducer, radar, engine protocol combinations and flags issues. It also has an NMEA 2000 network calculator and generates a quote sheet.

It's a prototype and I'm definitely looking for feedback from people who actually know this stuff.
