I went straight to the video before reading the article. My bad.
I was a bit…surprised to see the top off the unit and seeing solid state(brand) batteries and victron and yep I agree my first thought was…..that’s a nice box for alot of off the shelf parts .

I wish we could charge 200usd an hour. Our going rate down here is around 120-130aud lol maybe I need to move.

I wish them all the best it seems like an expensive uphill battle they have ..exhibitions etc are costly. When another company could do the exact same thing with no concern of infringment …and do it at a lower cost…

I’ve seen a similar product marketed for mobile applications. Assembled Victron components in a rolling box. In both instances the breadth of the market for such a product seems limited. The barrier to entry for competitors is also quite low. I wish them the best but I am skeptical.

Time will tell if the market is large enough. I am more optimistic on Cay Cube’s behalf but understand your skepticism.

Batteries don’t look like they have communications with victron. The prices are out of touch with reality. Sorry I would rather pay an installer to do a good bepoke setup for these prices.

      Alvin,

How are you determining the batteries don’t communicate with the GX system? On a watt-hour basis, Solid State Marine’s batteries are more expensive than other options, but also higher density, higher energy throughput, and less flammable. They do communicate with the GX system. No doubt, the Cay Cube isn’t the cheapest way you can provision these capabilities, but depending on your use case, the energy density and pre-built system may or may not be a good fit.
