Panbo editor, publisher & chief bottlewasher from 4/2005 until 8/2018, and now pleased to have Ben Stein as a very able publisher, webmaster, and editing colleague. Please don't regard him as an "expert"; he's getting quite old and thinks that "fadiddling fumble-putz" is a more accurate description.

Rumor has it that the Akalaria Open 40 and also Rich Wilson’s new Open 60 Great American IV will be in the Penobscot Bay Rendezvous races starting tomorrow, and I hope to see them in action. More info:

Hey Ben, Winterport Marine now has the basic info, some good pics and a video of the Trans Cat 26, I was unable to get the video to play on my iPad, but here’s the link:

My eyes are still bugged out!

Thanks, Peter! You’re going to like the video too; there’s even a clip of a good size tractor driving off. But you have to view it in Internet Explorer and it took nearly 10 minutes to “buffer” on my usually fast connection.
Meanwhile, here’s the link to the photos and specs page:

Maine is hopping this summer but most businesses and other organizations are also scrambling for help, even for the volunteers who get a great deal for four hours work at the Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors show on the Rockland waterfront August 12-14:

This sort of thing strikes me as a neat opportunity for passing cruisers, and I say that inspired by Hartley & Leslie of S/V Asta, who can found this coming weekend helping to cook thousands of “bugs” for the 71st annual Maine Lobster Festival:
